Welcome to A Hand to Lend Birth Doula Services. My name is Lisa Shire, Certified Birth Doula(DONA) and Lactation Educator.

I love the work that I do!  It is so inspiring to watch families being made!   All parents deserve to be nurtured through the journey of childbirth, no matter the path they choose.  I am here to lend that helping hand, not to judge or decide that path for you.  My goal is that my clients always feel heard, understood, and empowered. As Barbara Katz-Rothman so thoughtfully said, “Birth is not only about making babies.  It’s about making mothers — strong, competent, capable mothers who trust themselves and know their inner strength.”  I am here to remind you to believe in yourself and in the power of your body.
